Kings’ Doughty, Armia out vs. Flames with injuries

The injury bug is making its way through the Los Angeles Kings‘ locker room.

The already short-handed Kings will be without defenceman Drew Doughty and forward Joel Armia for Saturday’s tilt against the Calgary Flames, per the team’s reporter Zach Dooley.

Doughty is dealing with a lower-body injury, while Armia has an upper-body injury.

It’s another blow to the Kings, who are already without forwards Andrei Kuzmenko and Kevin Fiala.

Doughty, the 36-year-old Canadian Olympian, posted three goals and 11 assists in 50 games this season, while Armia, who represented Team Finland at the Olympics, has 10 goals and 10 assists in his first season in L.A.

According to Dooley, forward Samuel Helenius will draw in for Armia, while Jacob Moverare will slot in for Doughty on the backend.

Helenius, 23, logged three goals and two assists in 30 contests for the Kings this season. Moverare, a 27-year-old left-shot, has zero points through 14 contests.
