Golfer Andrea Pavan Discharged After Elevator Shaft Fall

Italian golfer Andrea Pavan was discharged from a South African hospital after a freak accident that sent him falling three stories in an elevator shaft during the DP World Tour’s Investec South African Open. He underwent shoulder and back surgeries and now can walk, albeit slowly.

Pavan will stay in South Africa for roughly five more weeks of rehabilitation before heading back to the United States. A GoFundMe set up by a former teammate has raised over $81,000 in support.
