Cardinals to Release Kyler Murray

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will be released when the new league year begins on March 11, as confirmed in his social media post. The team had grown frustrated with Murray, who played in just five games last season before suffering a foot injury, while backup Jacoby Brissett performed well in his absence.

Murray arrived in Arizona with high expectations after winning the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma in 2019. He expressed gratitude to fans in his post, saying, "I wanted nothing more than to be the one to end the 77 year drought for this organization, I am sorry I failed us." The Cardinals finished 3-14 last season and fired coach Jonathan Gannon.
