Arsenal’s summer plans have shifted as the club is said to be in the final stages of a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka. The 31‑year‑old German international will leave Bayern when his contract expires, and Arsenal had previously explored a move in January, but Goretzka chose to stay for the season.
Goretzka brings Champions League experience and domestic titles, having made 21 Bundesliga appearances this term and scored twice. While Arsenal’s midfield features Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard, the club seeks added experience for European competition. Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus have also expressed interest, but Goretzka’s preferred destination appears to be the Premier League.
