United manager and captain downplay table climb

Manchester United climbed to third place after a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, but manager Michael Carrick and captain Bruno Fernandes have urged the squad to remain grounded ahead of the season run-in.

Despite moving level on points with Aston Villa, Carrick emphasized that the current standing is not a cause for celebration. "It doesn't mean an awful lot at the moment," he stated, highlighting the importance of consistency.

Fernandes echoed his manager's sentiment, stressing that there are still many games to play. "We need to make as many points as we can," he said, as the team focuses on Champions League qualification rather than temporary table snapshots.
