Chiefs Plan to Release Jawaan Taylor if Trade Fails

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly preparing to release offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor to save significant salary cap space if they cannot find a trade partner before the league year begins.

In an effort to get under the NFL salary cap, the Chiefs have informed Taylor he will be released barring a trade. The move is expected to save the team $20 million.

The 28-year-old tackle has started 111 games over seven seasons and is known for his durability. This update comes from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
