Rams Top Spartans 85-73 in Mountain West Clash

San Jose State showed fight early, shooting 52% in the first half and briefly taking a 55-54 lead in the second half. Freshman guard Melvin Bell Jr. sparked the Spartans with 12 first-half points, while Colby Garland finished with a game-high 28 points and eight assists.

Colorado State's efficient offense ultimately wore down the Spartans, as the Rams shot 62% from the field and 53% from three. Rams guard Brandon Rechsteiner poured in 15 first-half points, making five of six three-point attempts. Spartans head coach Tim Miles acknowledged his team's defensive struggles against one of the nation's best shooting teams.
