Doohan Received Death Threats Before F1 Drop

Jack Doohan has revealed he received death threats and had a police-escorted encounter with armed men before being dropped by F1 team Alpine.

In the latest Netflix documentary 'Drive to Survive,' the Australian driver disclosed that he received six or seven emails threatening to kill him and cut off his limbs if he remained in the car for the Miami Grand Prix. Doohan also described an incident where he saw three armed men and had to call his police escort to resolve the situation.

Doohan, who made his debut for Alpine in 2024, was replaced by Franco Colapinto after Miami and is now a reserve driver for Haas. After his replacement, Doohan mentioned facing online abuse, which he attributed to fans from Colapinto's home country of Argentina.
