India reached 5-0 after the first two overs of the match, with Smriti Mandhana scoring 2 runs and Pratika Rawal scoring 3 runs. Darcie Brown took the new ball for Australia but was fortunate to get away with a full toss that Mandhana dispatched to deep square leg for a single.

Pratika Rawal got off the mark with an unconvincing dab off the front foot to gully. The India opener might just be pleased to survive the first over after a second-ball duck in Brisbane. Smriti Mandhana, who has been in fine touch throughout the multi-format series, immediately eased a single to cover.
