San Diego Padres pitcher Matt Waldron, 29-year-old knuckleballer, has undergone surgery for an infection in his rear end.

Waldron, a knuckleball specialist, struggled with injuries throughout the 2023 season. He suffered an oblique issue during spring training, made just one start in June, and ultimately finished the season in Triple-A.
