Colorado Buffs Staff Faces Major Turnover

The Buffaloes have lost 77 years of NFL experience since March 2025, with new coordinators needed for both offense and defense in 2026. Key positions including quarterback coach, tight ends coach, defensive line coach and cornerbacks coach will all have new faces.

While moving on from offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is understandable given his struggles adapting to college football, the defense showed improvement under Livingston in 2024, ranking 43rd in scoring defense. Colorado has promoted linebackers coach Chris Marve to defensive coordinator as the staff prepares for a challenging opening stretch with an almost entirely new team.
