Purdue men's basketball couldn't escape a significant first-half hole in Tuesday's 91-80 loss to top-ranked Michigan at Mackey Arena. The Wolverines (25-1, 15-1 Big Ten) extended their lead in the conference standings, while Purdue (21-5, 11-4) remains mathematically in contention but is now focused on securing their NCAA tournament positioning.

Trey Kaufman-Renn paced the Boilermakers with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Elliot Cadeau led Michigan with 17 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Despite a stronger second-half showing, Purdue couldn't overcome the early deficit.
