The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly preparing themselves to lose a veteran offensive lineman in free agency.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, the Steelers are expecting guard Isaac Seumalo to consider moving on in free agency in 2026.
Dulac adds that, if that happens, the Steelers are going to look to replace him via free agency with a veteran because of the overall youth of their group upfront.
"If the Steelers fail to keep Seumalo, they will pursue a veteran guard in free agency to replace him. Certainly, they have the cap space, especially considering that every other starter on the offensive line is on his rookie contract," he said.
If Seumalo does indeed leave, the Steelers could have interest in pending free-agent guards like the Las Vegas Raiders' Dylan Parham, the Buffalo Bills' David Edwards and the Cleveland Browns' Wyatt Teller.
Teller has already made it clear he isn't returning to Cleveland in 2026.
"While we are excited and look forward to what the future holds, Cleveland will always have a special place in our hearts," Teller said.
Teller, 31, is coming off two down seasons in a row, which isn't ideal, but he was also battling injury in that span, so perhaps better healthy and a change of scenery will help. On the plus side, those lackluster showings could make him a bargain.
In Buffalo, the Bills are in rough shape financially, with the team being over the cap with less than two weeks to go before the start of the new league year.
Thanks to financial constraints, re-signing Edwards, who is one of the top guards available, might prove to be impossible.
Parham was one of the few bright spots along the offensive line for the Raiders last season and has proven himself to be a starting-caliber player.
Parham is in the second tier of free-agent guards, so he should come at a reasonable price. Another attractive thing about Parham is he has never missed more than two games in any season.
