Olympique de Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber (24) was today present in Marseille’s press conference ahead of OM’s crunch clash against Lyon on Sunday evening. The Dutchman joined the club in January and has featured regularly in midfield despite a turbulent period which saw Marseille crash out the Champions League and Roberto De Zerbi leave the club. Timber came to the Provence region at the same time as Ethan Nwaneri, signing in the space of 24 hours with Arsenal teammate Jurrien and the brother of Quinten travelling to Marseille to accompany the pair. Whilst Nwaneri initially joined OM to work under De Zerbi, that plan has been altered by the club’s chaotic last month.“Ethan is a good guy. It hasn’t been easy for him with everything going on recently – but its part of his journey,” said Timber at a press conference attended by Get French Football News. “My brother knows him really well. He told me he is a great player. I’m sure Marseille fans will appreciate him more in the coming months.” Marseille remain locked in a tight race for the podium while also pursuing silverware in the Coupe de France, with pressure rarely dipping at the Vélodrome. The 18-year-old has been named on the bench in Marseille’s two previous outings, with Les Olympiens training in Marbella ahead of a crunch Ligue 1 clash against Lyon this weekend.GFFN | George Boxall – Reporting from La Commanderie, Marseille
