Enzo Le Fée considers playing in the World Cup with France his ‘ultimate goal’

Enzo Le Fée (26) described the prospect of competing in the World Cup in the colours of the French national team as his “ultimate goal”.

“To be honest, I’m not thinking about it for this year or this summer,” the Sunderland player told beIN Sports. “But playing in a World Cup with my national team is one of my career goals. […] I think that would be my ultimate goal.”

But to have a chance of one day competing in the most prestigious competition in world football, Le Fée will first need to earn his first cap for Les Bleus. What he believes playing and delivering performances in the Premier League could help him achieve: “We’re in the best league in the world. If I can perform there, then why not?”

Having joined the Black Cats in the winter of 2025, the French midfielder has now made 47 appearances, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. A key player in the English club’s promotion to the top flight at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, Le Fée has established himself as a fixture in Régis Le Bris’s team, starting in 27 of the 29 matches he has played since the start of the season.
