Colts Optimistic About Ward's 2026 Future

Indianapolis Colts officials are optimistic cornerback Charvarius Ward will return for the 2026 season despite his concussion concerns.

Despite suffering three concussions in 2025, Colts officials Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen expressed optimism about Ward's future with the team. Ward previously stated he would likely retire if he suffered another concussion due to long-term health concerns.

Ward was placed on injured reserve twice during the 2025 season after experiencing lingering symptoms from his second concussion. When healthy, Ward provided valuable coverage, allowing just a 57% completion rate on 37 targets with seven pass breakups in seven games.
