Sewage Leak Disrupts Yankees Spring Training

A sewage leak at Steinbrenner Field during Saturday's Yankees-Tigers spring training game forced the closure of the clubhouse and affected fan areas with standing water.

A sewage leak seeped into the New York Yankees' clubhouse bathroom and forced fans to navigate around pools of water during a spring training game at Steinbrenner Field on Saturday. Tampa's Department of Public Works is reportedly aware of the problem.

Workers were tearing up part of the entrance to access piping, while a security guard directed people around the dirty water. The Yankees closed the bottom floor of their team store as sewage spread to carpeted areas. Manager Aaron Boone commented, "It's not great. It's all over the place," hoping for a quick cleanup before their next game. Despite the issues, the Yankees defeated the Detroit Tigers 20-3.
