Italy Debuts Special Red Kit Against France

Italy will debut a special red kit for their Six Nations clash with France in Lille, honoring Giuseppe Garibaldi and his 'redshirts' who fought in Italy's unification.

Italy's national rugby teams will wear special scarlet jerseys for their Six Nations matches against France, commemorating Italian general Giuseppe Garibaldi. The 'Garibaldi Red' kit, inspired by the jackets worn by Garibaldi's soldiers, symbolizes heroism and the indomitable spirit that Italian athletes aim to embody on the pitch.

Typically wearing white change strips to avoid color clashes, the Azzurri will instead debut this new design at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Both Italy's men's and women's teams will wear the special jersey, which was unveiled near Genoa where Garibaldi launched his famous 'Expedition of the Thousand' in 1860.
