Pirates' Rotation Compared to Braves Dynasty

MLB analyst Dan Plesac compared the Pittsburgh Pirates' young pitching staff to the Atlanta Braves dynasty of the early 1990s, citing stars like Paul Skenes and Bubba Chandler as key contributors.

The Pittsburgh Pirates boast one of baseball's most promising young pitching rotations, led by talents like Paul Skenes, Bubba Chandler, Braxton Ashcraft, and Jared Jones. MLB analyst Dan Plesac, a former Pirates player, recently drew comparisons between Pittsburgh's staff and the legendary Atlanta Braves teams of the early 1990s that featured Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Steve Avery.

"Those iconic Atlanta teams ruled the 1990s and won a World Series," Plesac noted on MLB Network. "If I'm a Pirates fan, this is the most enthusiastic I've felt going into a season in about four or five years." The Pirates haven't won a playoff game since 2013 or a championship since 1979, but Plesac believes that could change with their strong pitching and offseason lineup improvements.
