Ronda Rousey confirmed she contacted UFC President Dana White about a potential comeback fight against Gina Carano, but the deal ultimately fell through. The former UFC champion and Hall of Famer will now face Carano at 145 pounds on Netflix in a bout promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions.
Despite her efforts to return to the UFC, Rousey explained that Carano was the driving force behind her comeback. She felt compelled to help Carano after seeing her struggle, saying 'she's the one woman not only in MMA that doesn't owe me a damn thing but that I owe immensely.' The UFC had explored booking the Carano-Rousey fight as far back as 2014.
