Former NBA player Patrick Beverley will not face trial in Texas after a grand jury declined to indict him on assault charges related to an incident with his sister. The decision comes months after Beverley was arrested in November when his sister claimed he grabbed her by the neck, slammed her against a wall and punched her.
Beverley had maintained his innocence, posting a statement saying he found his sister, a minor, alone with an 18-year-old man. The 12 NBA veteran, who last played for the Milwaukee Bucks, expressed gratitude for the grand jury's decision and asked for continued prayers for his family.
