The 2026 Winter Olympics medal count standings are a tight race at the top as we prepare to enter the second week of competition in the Milan-Cortina Games.
Norway and Italy are tied at the top of the table with 18 total medals each, but it is Norway who has a slight tie-breaking edge with the country’s Olympic-high eight gold medals entering the weekend.
Unfortunately, the United States was kept off the podium on Friday, but the country remains at No. 2 in the medal count standings, tied with Japan with 14 overall medals.

Women have accounted for seven of the 14 medals, including two of the golds. Team USA has been most successful in freestyle skiing (3) and alpine skiing (2), but figure skating is on the rise.
The United States will look to add to the medal count this weekend and close the gap on Norway and Italy with events like men’s and women’s hockey, and women’s figure skating coming up.
