Savannah State baseball opens conference play with two wins

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State baseball team opened up SIAC play with a doubleheader sweep of Clark Atlanta University on Friday at Tiger Field.

In the first game, the Tigers used an eight-run fourth inning to take control of the contest. In the frame, Savannah State had three hits and Clark Atlanta helped out with four errors. The Tigers won. 12-2.

In the second game, Savannah State needed to come from behind to earn the sweep. They home team scored one run and the fifth and two in the sixth to propel the Tigers to a 5-4 win.

Savannah State looks to go for the sweep Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Tiger Field.
