Arsenal Are Keeping Tabs On This Talented Full-Back: One For The Future?

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Sporting CP full-back Ivan Fresneda. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eager to get a deal done for the Spanish defender next summer.

Fresneda’s Impressive Form In Portuguese Football

Fresneda has caught the eye at times with his performances on the right side of Arsenal’s defence this season. The Spanish talent has found the back of the net once and picked up three assists in 31 matches for the Gunners this season across all competitions.

The 21-year-old is currently among the best young full-backs in Liga Portugal. Thus, it is no wonder that the Gunners are showing interest in signing him this off-season.

His current contract at Sporting will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Arsenal to land him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Arsenal Are Keeping Tabs On Fresneda: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Fresneda loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

The Spanish sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. Fresneda is primarily a right-back but can also function as a right-winger if asked to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to bring him on board later this year.

Fresneda would undoubtedly add more quality to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s defence. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting role at the Emirates Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 21, Fresneda has got the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the North London giants should focus on going all out to bring him to the Emirates Stadium at the end of this season.
