Kentucky basketball continues to slide after dropping a third consecutive loss on Saturday night when they fell 75-74 at Auburn. The loss came after losing at Florida and then at home against Georgia last week.
It’s the program’s first three-game losing streak in Southeastern Conference play since 2021 and could very well play a major part in the team falling short of making the NCAA Tournament.
Kentucky has four league games left and is currently projected to play on Wednesday of the SEC Tournament.
The feeling is that anything short of 2-2 over the final stretch of the regular season and at least 2 wins in the conference tournament could cause the Wildcats to watch the Big Dance from home.
However, the Wildcats are somehow still inside the Top-25 of the EvanMiya rankings at No. 24 and are coming in at No. 29 in the latest polls from both DRatings and Haslametrics.
Kentucky will retake the court on Tuesday when they pay a visit to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the Wildcats are a sizable favorite with a 75.6% chance to win.
Tip-off for Tuesday night’s game is scheduled for 7 PM ET with coverage on the SEC Network.
For the women’s team, they fell in another close game at Vanderbilt on Sunday to lose the season series, 2-0.
They’ll stay on the road at Auburn on Thursday before ending their regular season against South Carolina at Historic Memorial Coliseum on Sunday.
