Westmont Hilltop's Rylee Kohan sets 2 meet records at District 6 swimming championships

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Westmont Hilltop sophomore Rylee Kohan set two meet records to highlight area competitors Saturday at the District 6 Class 2A swimming and diving championships.

Kohan won gold in the 50-yard and 100 freestyle races. She had a seeded time of 23.84 in 50 free, then clocked a 23.43 to surpass her own record set in 2025 at 23.85.

Kohan won a state gold medal in the 50 free as a freshman. Somerset's Riley Clark was second at 25.74.

In the 100 free, Kohan hit the wall in 52.02 to beat Clark again. Kohan's seeded time was 52.17. She beat Jessica Brutz from Richland's record set in 1998 at 53.04.

Conemaugh Township senior Aidan Burnworth and Westmont Hilltop junior Cullen Miller each won two events.

Each of the top five boys competitors in the 50 free were from the area. Burnworth earned gold in the event for the third straight year with a time of 21.87, followed by Richland's Spencer Kovalsky and Westmont Hilltop's Fisher Stratton. Burnworth also won the 100 free race in 48.61, his second straight district title in the event. Kovalsky was third.

Miller won the 100 back in 54.15 and the 200 free in 1:47.02 for the second straight year.

Richland's Benjamin Rzasa, Patrick Carbonara, Geno LaMonaca and Spencer Kovalsky were first in the 200 free relay at 1:35.29.

Westmont Hilltop's Miller, John Allen, Connor Selders and Stratton won the 200 medley relay in 1:48.05, just ahead of Central Cambria’s Ethan Haycisak, Angelo Persio, Giles Westrick and Tommy Corcoran (1:48.65).

Rockwood senior Jonathan Monteith finished first in the 100 breast at 1:00.84.

Somerset's Allison Borek, Sophie ElBayly, Jacklyn Richard and Clark took first in the 400 free relay at 3:56.19.

The Central Cambria boys (141 points) and girls (156) teams each finished in second place. Tyrone won the boys title with 164 points, and Hollidaysburg claimed the girls crown with 243.5.

Event winners and those who recorded state-qualifying times advance to the PIAA championships March 13-14 in Lewisburg.

Top-three finishers in each event from the local area are listed.

Haycisak was third in the 500 free.

Central Cambria’s Karlee Nileski, Kendall Magulick, Bryn Wandel and Jaycee Kleinstuber were third in the 200 and 400 free relays. Kleinstuber was third in the 200 and 500 free.

Somerset's Allison Borek was second in the 100 butterfly, and Jacklyn Richard was third in the 100 back.
