Generals score game's 1st 4 goals to sweep Tomahawks

CANTON, Mass. – The Northeast Generals scored the game's first four goals on their way to defeating the Johnstown Tomahawks 4-2 and sweep the North American Hockey League East Division series Saturday.

Northeast won 4-1 Friday after tallying the final four scores.

Vinny Ipri and Braydon Hudtloff each scored within a span of 1:02 in the second period to put Northeast up 2-0.

In the third, Kody Moyer scored on the power play, and Rich Rucireto found the back of the net as the Generals increased their lead to 4-0.

Johnstown's Nick Jarmain and Justin Chiras each scored on the power play in the final 1:20 to avoid the shutout.

Johnstown was 2-for-7 on the power play. Northeast was 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

Northeast outshot Johnstown 28-26. Zack Ferris made 23 saves for the Tomahawks. Keagin Wilson stopped 24 shots for Northeast.

Johnstown travels to Rochester next weekend.
