The Trey Hendrickson saga continues into this offseason, with rampant speculation about what the Cincinnati Bengals’ front office will choose to do.
Most recently, Tony Pauline of EssentiallySports reported that “people with knowledge of the situation tell me that it’s not out of the question that Cincinnati will attempt to tag and trade [Hendrickson”
Pauline pointed out that, for that to work, the star pass rusher would have to agree to a contract with the team that hopes to acquire him.
In the article, Pauline also wrote that the Bengals may have moved Hendrickson before last year’s trade deadline had he not suffered the hip injury that ended his season after seven games.
Should the Bengals tag and trade Hendrickson, it would be a departure from their MO, in a good way.
You can expect to hear a number of other reports about Hendrickson’s contract before free agency kicks off in March.
