The NFL offseason is underway, but things will truly kick off with the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week.
With the Combine comes rumors about the team's offseason moves. And for the Miami Dolphins, nothing will be as interesting as what the team does about Tua Tagovailoa.
According to NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essentiallysports.com, the Dolphins are rumored to be deciding on Tagovailoa's future soon, potentially by the end of the combine.
Dolphins expected to make Tua Tagovailoa decision soon
"The Miami Dolphins' immediate plans for the future of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be publicly announced before the end of the Combine," Pauline reports. "No one expects Tagovailoa to be back with the franchise."
Miami has new leadership with Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan in charge as the head coach and general manager, respectively.
All signs have pointed towards the Dolphins fully resetting this offseason. They've cut Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, and Tagovailoa might not be far behind.
He could wind up being traded, though it likely won't be for much, if the Dolphins even find a team willing to take on his current contract.

A release might be more likely. But, regardless of what the Dolphins decide, such a decision is, as Pauline notes, set to come soon.
The NFL Scouting Combine begins February 26th and ends March second. During that time, the Dolphins' decision with Tagovailoa might come to light.
There's no telling which way they'll go, but as of now, as Pauline mentioned, Tagovailoa returning to the Dolphins in 2026 doesn't look likely at all.
