Though he played in Chapel Hill for just one season, Harrison Ingram delivered a lasting impact on the UNC basketball program.
Ingram was a Tar Heel during their 2023-24 campaign, which resulted in an ACC Regular Season Championship and 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina battled to the Sweet 16, facing an equally hot Alabama squad, before losing in a heartbreaker.
Now a member of the NBA G League's Austin Spurs, Ingram recently delivered the most memorable game of his young, professional basketball career. In Austin's 135-132 loss to the San Diego Clippers on Friday night, Ingram recorded his second career triple-double.
Ingram pulled down 20 rebounds, scored 16 points and dished out 14 assists, leading his team in rebounds and assists. Ingram is now also the G League's active leader in rebounds per game (12.8).
The San Antonio Spurs made Ingram a second round selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, choosing him 48th overall. Ingram spends most of his time in the G League, but recently received an NBA call-up.
In San Antonio's Saturday night, 139-122 victory over the Sacramento Kings, Ingram played four minutes, scoring two points on his lone shot and dishing out one assist.

Harrison earned his first triple-double of the season last night and ranks No.1 in the league in rebounds averaging 12.8 rebs per game!👏 pic.twitter.com/iG7L7M2fJg
Ingram averaged 12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game during his lone season at UNC, quickly proving himself as a key starter. Ingram gave the Tar Heels a rare find in today's game: a small forward who could step out and nail threes, handle the basketball efficiently, slam home thunderous dunks and lock down the opposing ball-handler.
With Ingram's latest breakout, he's deserving of a permanent roster spot in the NBA, even on a deep Spurs squad. It's always exciting watching North Carolina alum thrive at the next level, which Ingram is doing plenty of.
