Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is dealing with serious legal trouble. His ex-girlfriend filed a civil lawsuit against him this week in Dallas County District Court, and the allegations are disturbing.
Dacoda Jones submitted the complaint on Monday, claiming Rice assaulted her at two different homes between December 2023 and July 2025. One was in Victory Park, Texas. The other was in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

The lawsuit points to specific incidents in February, August, October and December of 2024. Jones says those attacks left her with severe injuries that haven’t gone away.
The filing also lays out what it describes as a pattern of abuse that started ramping up in late 2023 and continued throughout their relationship.
Rice hasn’t commented publicly, but his attorney fired back on Wednesday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sean Lindsey released a statement that challenges Jones’ version of events.
“On October 9th, 2025, well after the parties’ relationship had ended, Ms. Jones stated under penalty of perjury in a sworn Affidavit for Non-Prosecution that ‘Mr. Rice and I had a verbal argument, but he did not punch me,'” Lindsey said. “We will allow the legal process to run its course and will have no further comment at this time.”
Jones’ lawsuit goes into detail about what she says happened. She accuses Rice of grabbing her, choking her, pushing her, scratching her, and striking her.
The suit also mentions headbutting. Some incidents allegedly involved household items being used against her.
The petition describes damage to property too. Thrown objects, punched walls, broken furniture.

Jones also claims Rice locked her out of the house late at night on at least one occasion. Several of these incidents happened while she was pregnant, according to the filing.
Jones says she dealt with bleeding, swelling, and bruises. The pain spread across her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest and shoulder. She’s still experiencing physical pain and emotional distress, and she says the impairment is permanent.
She’s seeking at least $1 million in damages. Rice was formally served notice of the lawsuit on Wednesday.
