EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — For the first time in program history, UE will be hosting an SEC opponent at Braun Stadium.
The 18th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats will be coming to town to take on the Aces in a three game series.
The Wildcats boast one of the best rotations in the country, but head coach Wes Carroll said it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase what his team is made of.
“It’s going to be great for our fans and this community,” head coach Wes Carroll said. “We’ll have good weather Friday and Saturday so we’re looking forward to showcasing what we are all about. It’s one of the best teams in the country, so it’s going to be so challenging and we’re looking forward to getting better as a collective unit and as a team and get ourselves in the win column.”
“It’s a big game for us,” redshirt sophomore outfielder Charlie Longmeier said. “We’re going to try and show how hard we’ve been working and try to get some big wins. Especially here at home, hopefully we have a big crowd for that.”
First pitch Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday’s game was rescheduled to a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch from game one is set for 12 p.m.
