The New York Jets have a lot of money to work with this offseason. Combined with a ton of needs all across the roster, there are nearly infinite ways to go about the offseason.

But every scenario should involve the Jets improving their wide receiver room in some capacity. Regardless of who the quarterback is, the Jets need to add to their WR room.

Mason Cameron of PFF.com has the Jets as the best landing spot for a WR this offseason, but, surprisingly, it's with the Dallas Cowboys' George Pickens. He's expected to get franchise tagged, and yet, the Jets are his best landing spot.

Jets tabbed as surprising top landing spot for George Pickens

"Not many teams have both the necessary cap space and draft capital to make the potential move," Cameron writes. "However, one team that does fit the bill is the New York Jets."

While the Cowboys are seemingly planning to franchise tag Pickens, they could end up trading him right afterwards for a better return than a simple third-round compensatory draft pick.

But, Pickens will demand an extension right away. That makes a trade very difficult to find, if one were to be found.

That's where the Jets come in. They have a lot of cap space ($83.2 million, 4th-most in the league), and they hold plenty of draft picks over the next two drafts.

While the price of Pickens in a trade might be a little unknown, the Jets have the ammo to facilitate whatever the Cowboys demand from the Jets in a trade this offseason.

Even though Pickens is going to be franchise tagged, the Cowboys might move him in a trade after his Pro Bowl season with 1,429 receiving yards, nine touchdowns, and 93 receptions.

Whether it's a first-round pick or multiple day-two draft picks, the Jets have that ammo at the ready. And with plenty of cap space, acquiring Pickens and giving him a long-term extension is very doable.

Because the Jets combined draft picks and cap space, Cameron tabs them as the best landing spot for Pickens this offseason.

It would make for an interesting duo with Garrett Wilson, especially without a quarterback. But, with a need at WR, don't rule the Jets out of making such a surprising move this offseason.
