Nate Ament named SEC Freshman of the Week for fifth time

Tennessee forward Nate Ament was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday.

He earned the honor for a fifth time this season. Ament previously won the award on Nov. 10, 2025, Dec. 1, 2025 and Feb. 2. He was also named SEC Player of the Week on Jan. 26, making this his sixth SEC weekly honor this season.

Ament averaged 28.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in two contests last week. He totaled 28 points, including 26 points in the second half, against Ole Miss in an, 84-66, victory. Ament scored the most points in a half since Dalton Knecht on Feb. 28, 2024. Ament also had six rebounds and four assists against the Rebels.

In Tennessee's, 74-71, loss to Kentucky, Ament recorded 29 points at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. He has scored 20-plus points in three consecutive games.

Ament's five SEC Freshman of the Week designations are two more than the total of any other player in program history, surpassing Tobias Harris (2010-11) and Ramar Smith (2006-07), who both earned the award three times.
