'I do it because I like it': 11-year-old youngest woman grandmaster

London schoolgirl Bodhana Sivanandan, 11, has become the youngest person ever to hold the title of woman grandmaster at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan.

The young chess prodigy, who learned the game from her father at age five, defeated a former British champion just three years later. During the Olympiad, Bodhana played on a car booster seat to reach the board.

Despite her international success, the 11-year-old returned to her north London school for a design and technology lesson on Tuesday, balancing her chess career with the challenges of starting secondary school. livefromquarantine.club
