Katarina Sunde Out of Norway's World Cup Playoffs

Norway's national team coach Gemma Grainger has announced the squad for the upcoming World Cup playoff matches against Romania on October 9th (away) and October 13th (home). Despite her impressive season with 25 goals in 16 matches, Toppserien's top scorer Katarina Dybvik Sunde has not been included in the squad.

Grainger praised Sunde as a "fantastic goalscorer" but emphasized the strong competition for positions in the team. Norway finished second in their World Cup qualifying group, four points behind Germany, and must beat Romania to advance. If successful, they'll face either Albania or Wales in a "final" for a place in the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. betsport24.es
