European Leagues Demand FIFA Reform
The Premier League has joined forces with La Liga, Serie A, and the Bundesliga in demanding significant changes to FIFA's governance structure. The leagues specifically criticize what they call FIFA's 'expansionism' and seek greater input in decision-making processes. beltedkingfisher.blog
This coordinated effort comes in the wake of the World Cup sell-off controversy and as FIFA president Gianni Infantino prepares to seek a fourth term. The leagues' statement indicates that Infantino's proposal for an external governance review does not go far enough to address their concerns.
Drake London: Michael Penix is the definition of resiliency
Michael Penix's return to the Falcons starting lineup didn't get off to a great start, but that just turned out to be one more chance for him to show his ability to bounce back from an adverse situation.
Penix threw an interception on the fourth offensive play, which seemed like an omen that it would be a long night for the Falcons in the quarterback's first start since last season's torn ACL. It turned out far differently, however. Penix finished the night 18-of-25 for 256 yards and a touchdown to tight end Austin Hooper in a 35-14 rout of the Packers.
"I knew we had a long game ahead of us, so I just continue to keep my head down, continue to keep working and doing what I can to help this team win a football game," Penix said of his response to the interception.
Nine of Penix's passes went to wide receiver Drake London for 194 yards and the wideout had a succinct way of summing up Penix's return from both the injury and the early stumble.
"He’s the definition of resiliency," London said.
Penix noted that it is a "long season" and that the Falcons were "far from perfect" on Thursday night, but they were leaps and bounds better than they were in the first two weeks and Penix's play gives the team plenty of reason to believe that more good days are in their future.

Surrey are 378-8 in Taunton with the non bat owning Dan Worrall at the crease alongside Adam Thomas. Lofty heights.
Worrall does own a guitar though, I saw some clips of him strumming away on the boundary edge yesterday with just a hint of David Brent/gap year campfire energy...

Kieron Dyer making waves at Southend after leaving ‘hooligan’ days and ‘deathbed’ behind
Day in former England midfielder’s company reveals a chess fan and hands-on manager who will not tolerate tardiness
Kieron Dyer is recounting a tale from his time in Japan at the 2002 World Cup. “You have a lot of time on your hands,” he begins from behind his desk at Southend United’s training ground.
Dyer, a chess fan, was looking for an opponent in the England squad. “Sol Campbell was a deep thinker, and I asked if he played. He said yes, and I told him I’d pummel him. I’m not joking, we played for an hour and he’d moved two pieces. If that was how much he was thinking so early …” Dyer belly laughs. “I was like: ‘Sol, I’m not sitting here for five hours playing chess with you, mate!’”
