NWSL Season Starts Early in 2027 for World Cup

The National Women's Soccer League will open its 2027 season earlier than ever before to align with the Women's World Cup in Brazil.

The 15th season will launch on Feb. 11, with the Challenge Cup on Feb. 6. The league will pause from June 24 to July 25 as players join national teams for the tournament. Playoffs are set for Nov. 5, with the championship on Nov. 20.

Commissioner Jessica Berman noted the schedule change aims to capitalize on the "World Cup bump" and maximize exposure during the Super Bowl weekend. catcross.biz
