Mauricio hits game-winning single to lift Mets 4-3

Pinch-hitter Ronny Mauricio returned to the majors on Tuesday with a game-winning single in the 10th inning, lifting the New York Mets to a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Mauricio, recalled from Triple-A, lined an 0-2 pitch from Paul Sewald over right fielder Corbin Carroll to drive in the automatic runner Francisco Lindor with one out. The 23-year-old celebrated by throwing off his helmet and being mobbed by his teammates.

New York improved to 7-4 and won its fourth straight game, marking their third extra-inning contest of the season. Luke Weaver pitched a perfect 10th inning to earn the win.
