Iowa Cubs extend win streak to five games

The Iowa Cubs defeated the Louisville Bats 6-2 on Tuesday to extend their winning streak to five games, featuring strong pitching from Vince Velazquez and power hitting from Kevin Alcántara and Chas McCormick.

Vince Velazquez earned the win after tossing five innings of one-run ball, while Tyler Santana struck out three in three shutout relief innings. James Triantos went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a stolen base, and Jonathon Long added an RBI single.

Kevin Alcántara hit his fourth home run of the year, and Chas McCormick added another long ball for his third home run in four games. BJ Murray Jr. went 2-for-2 with a triple and two walks, while Christian Bethancourt drove in a run.
