Welsh Rugby Union EGM cancelled as chair steps down

An extraordinary general meeting (EGM) for the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has been cancelled after the chair announced he would step down.

Central Glamorgan Rugby Union (CGRU) announced it is withdrawing three motions, including a vote of no confidence in WRU chair Richard Collier-Keywood, after he confirmed he would not seek a second term.

The district also cited the recent exit of PRB chair Malcolm Wall as a reason for the cancellation. Collier-Keywood will leave his position on July 16, and the CGRU stated they have achieved their objectives regarding governance changes and now seek constructive engagement with the WRU board.
