Calgary Flames defenceman Joel Hanley has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an undisclosed injury sustained during Thursday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Head coach Ryan Huska confirmed the news Saturday, marking the end of Hanley's 68-game campaign this season, in which he recorded seven assists.

The 34-year-old defenceman, who agreed to an extension last off-season, has one year remaining on his contract.
