Sarah Strong Returns to UNC Roots in Sweet 16 Showdown

Sarah Strong grew up just down the road from Chapel Hill and was a fan of the Tar Heels as a child. The 2026 first‑team All‑American, who leads UConn in points, rebounds, steals and blocks, will now face North Carolina in the Sweet 16 on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

Strong almost chose UNC, but the lure of Geno Auriemma’s storied program won her over. Her parents, former college stars and WNBA player Allison Feaster and NC State alumnus Danny Strong, have long supported her basketball journey.
