Robert Griffin III, 36, was named one of 24 athletes vying for a 12‑player roster for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships. He earned an invitation to the U.S. training camps after performing at national team trials, with sessions scheduled at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center on April 16‑19 and May 21‑24, followed by a June final camp that will determine the final roster.
The move comes as flag football prepares for its Olympic debut in Los Angeles in 2028. Griffin, who last played in the NFL in 2020, is following the path of former NFL stars who have already proven Team USA’s dominance, beating NFL‑led teams in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic earlier this year.
