Yankees’ Caballero Loses First ABS Challenge

Yankees’ José Caballero challenged a strike in the season opener, but replay confirmed the call, costing New York one of two challenges as MLB’s ABS system debuts.

In the opening night clash at Oracle Park, Caballero tapped the helmet after a high‑and‑in from Logan Webb was called a strike. Replay showed the 90.7‑mph sinker was inside the zone, confirming umpire Bill Miller’s call and leaving the Yankees with one challenge remaining.
