WNBA Announces April 3 Expansion Draft for Portland and Toronto

The WNBA has officially set the date for its 2026 expansion draft, scheduled for April 3, to help the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo construct their inaugural rosters.

The two-round draft will feature six picks per team and will take place on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. ET. Teams must submit their protected lists by Sunday, designating a maximum of five players per franchise who cannot be selected.

The order of selection will be determined by a coin toss, with the winner choosing first or sixth in the subsequent regular draft. The college draft is set to follow on April 13.
