Islanders unable to erase poor first period in 4-3 loss to Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks snapped a two-game skid with a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders, scoring four straight goals in the first period.

Anton Frondell recorded an assist in his NHL debut, while Nick Lardis and Frank Nazar each scored for the Blackhawks. Ilya Mikheyev and Tyler Bertuzzi also found the net as Chicago took control early.

Anders Lee, Simon Holmstrom, and Calum Ritchie scored for the Islanders, but they couldn't overcome the deficit. David Rittich allowed three goals on 12 shots before being replaced by Ilya Sorokin.
