Dolphins sign RB Washington, elevate DL Smith

Published October 3, 2026 · Updated October 3, 2026 · NBC Sports

The Miami Dolphins have signed running back Carlos Washington off the practice squad and elevated defensive lineman Mazi Smith for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Washington will help fill the void left by De'Von Achane, who suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. The running back played in two games for the Falcons over the last two seasons and signed with the Dolphins in May.

The Dolphins also elevated defensive end Rodney McGraw for the matchup. Smith, a 2023 Cowboys first-round pick, joined Miami last month while McGraw signed with the team after going undrafted this year. mchezo.co.za
