NFL Moves Up 53-Man Cutdown Deadline

The NFL has moved up this year's cutdown deadline to 53 players by two days compared to recent years.

Teams must now reach the 53-player limit by 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 30, with waiver claims due at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 31. The season will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 9, a day earlier than usual, featuring the Seahawks hosting the Patriots.
