Gerwyn Price has become only the second player to reach double figures on the European Tour after winning the Grand Prix in Germany.

The former world champion beat Ross Smith 8-6 in the final at the Glaspalast in Sindelfingen to win the 10th European Tour title of his career.

"I've been in the PDC for 12 years now, so less than one a year on average isn't very good," joked 41-year-old Price. amunra-online.pl

The Welsh number two beat Dave Chisnall, Chris Dobey, Martin Schindler and Wessel Nijman on the way to a final which he clinched with 14-dart hold.

"I was 3-0 up, then 4-3 down, and Ross started smashing the trebles in for fun. I was hanging on and hoping I got more opportunities, and I did," said Price, who lost in the final on his only other appearance on the circuit this year.

"I was just struggling to get over the winning line. I lost in the last European Tour final that I played in," he added.

"Thankfully I won this one, and hopefully it will give me a bit of confidence going forward."

The only other player to reach double figures for trophies won on the European Tour is Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.

Shadasia Green had brain bleed, ‘no surgery needed’

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 17: Shadasia Green lands a left hand to the head of Lani Daniels during their IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine championship bout at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden on April 17, 2026 in New York City. (Photo by Ed Mulholland/Getty Images) | Getty Images

Shadasia Green says she’s recovering in the hospital, and that she did suffer from a brain bleed in this past Saturday night’s fight with Lani Daniels.

Green was taken from the ring on a stretcher after being stopped in the ninth round. She had looked exhausted and slow in the eighth round, with Daniels taking full control of the fight, and was only able to get up off of her stool to start round nine. She didn’t move from her corner, allowing Daniels to come in and unload with a series of punches, eventually forcing referee Eric Dali to step in and stop the fight 24 seconds into the round.

The 36-year-old Green (16-2, 11 KO) lost the IBF and WBO super middleweight titles, but more importantly is getting better after a really scary scene in New York.

“I wanna thank everybody for prayers and (support),” she wrote on social media. I was winning the fight until my injury got the best of me! I’m current in the hospital in ICU with blood on my brain! … No surgery needed, taking medication to decrease it.”

It remains to be seen if Green will be able to fight again, but it’s not impossible. It would be a risk, obviously, and more likely than not she won’t fight again for at least a year, and states with more demanding or serious medical guidelines may refuse to issue her a license at all.

Whatever does or doesn’t happen with her career, it’s great to hear that Shadasia is healing up, and we wish her all the best.

Antonio Mohamed blasts: You can't hug a player like that

Antonio Mohamed spoke to the press after América vs. Toluca, which ended on a heated note because of Helinho’s red card and the incidents involving Alejandro Zendejas.

"El Turco" referred to the intervention of assistant referee Karen Díaz, who hugged the América player to pull him away from the fight.

"It makes us angry that the lineswoman can’t be hugging Zendejas the way she hugged him. Why didn’t she hug Helinho? She ran all over the field while hugging him. I haven’t even hugged my daughter like that."

"I went over to tell her: ‘You can’t be hugging Zendejas. If he wants to throw a punch, let him throw it. Why didn’t you hug Helinho?’ That was the question I asked her. Not because she’s a man or a woman," he said. +

Karen Díaz’s actions divided opinion: while some praised her composure, others pointed out that as an official, she cannot intervene that way during a fight on the field.

While it was Bruno Fernandes who left Stamford Bridge with yet another Player of the Match award to take home, Kobbie Mainoo was undoubtedly in contention to beat him to it.

In fact, Michael Carrick hailed Mainoo’s showing post-match as ‘the best Kobbie has played since I have been here’.

How Kobbie Mainoo fared vs Chelsea

The midfielder’s statistics certainly back it up, too.

As per StatmanDave, Mainoo recorded a 100 per cent final-third passing accuracy and 95 per cent passing accuracy overall.

He had 68 touches in total, and registered 21 carries, five ball recoveries, three interceptions and two tackles – a near 10/10 display to say he was vying until the very last hours before kick-off to ensure he was deemed match-fit.

Mainoo, who turned 21 on Sunday, had missed out against Leeds United due to a minor injury, but trained in the latter stages of the week in hopes of returning at the earliest opportunity to face Chelsea.

Considering how poorly his replacement, Manuel Ugarte, fared in his absence, it came as a major boost when it was revealed ahead of the clash that the England international had been cleared to start.

Mainoo is preparing to commit future to boyhood club

Any week now, it’s expected that Mainoo will finally put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at Manchester United until 2031.

He has been in talks for several months now regarding his future, but the club’s efforts to tie him down to a long-term contract intensified after he was restored to the squad when Carrick took the reins, and it again became evident just how special a talent he is.

Mainoo’s efforts are also poised to see him make Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad this summer, having been recalled to the England setup in March for the first time since September 2024. He now has 12 caps to his name.

Golden Knights rally past Mammoth in Game 1 as Nic Dowd nets winner

LAS VEGAS — Nic Dowd redirected Noah Hanifin’s shot from the point to put Vegas ahead at 7:20 of the third period and the Golden Knights beat the Utah Mammoth 4-2 on Sunday night in Game 1 of their first-round series.

Game 2 is Tuesday night in Las Vegas.

The Golden Knights, who twice trailed before scoring three third-period goals, have not lost in regulation since John Tortorella (8-0-1) took over as coach.

The Mammoth lost in the franchise’s first playoff game since 2021. They are in their second season in Utah after leaving Arizona.

Colton Sissons had a goal and assist for the Golden Knights and Mark Stone and Ivan Barbashev also scored. Carter Hart stopped 32 shots. Hanifin had two assists.

Logan Cooley and Kevin Stenlund scored for the Mammoth. Karel Vejmelka, playing in his first playoff game after five years in the Utah/Arizona organization, made 27 saves. Captain Clayton Keller, who closed the regular season with 16 assists over a 10-game streak, failed to record one in this game.

The Golden Knights took the fight to the Mammoth from the beginning and finished with 52 hits to 29 for Utah. Vegas’ high in the regular season was 36 against Los Angeles in the Oct. 8 opener.

Both teams breaking into several fights including one after the final buzzer.

Former Golden Knight Nate Schmidt delivered a tremendous cross-ice pass to Cooley, whose one-timer from the right circle put the Mammoth on the scoreboard first with just 11 seconds left in the first period.

Sissons scored the equalizer at 3:44 of the second period, jamming in the puck after a backhand pass from Cole Smith. Utah retook the lead not even two minutes later when Hart found himself out of position and Vegas defenseman Kaeden Korczak knocked the puck into his own net, though it was officially credited to Kevin Stenlund.

The Golden Knights again tied it when Stone put a rebound into the open net for a power-play goal 5:33 of the third period. They then soon had the lead when Utah defenseman MacKenzie Weegar turned over the puck in his zone, and Dowd knocked in Hanifin’s shot.

Barbashev closed the scoring with an empty-netter.
